Consumers Don't Need Protection ... They'll Survive

LOL. Why is it that almost everything our new POTUS does start a pissing match? It's not like consumers need financial protection anyway. Ask the folks who work at Wells Fargo. Yes I know. That's not really fair. I shouldn't just call out Wells Fargo. But they are easy to pick on, since I remember that image of the horses and carriage which has been a part of America's economic tapestry for a very very long time. WF was sort of recognized as a trustworthy institution; almost like a revered great great great grandfather. Anyway, if you look at America's history, you'll note it wasn't our first financial crisis. Consumers … citizens rather … managed to survive. Just because someone came up with the idea of actually trying to protect the consumer as an effective remedy and a solution doesn't mean the good old boy network should make it happen. Shhh … There's no such thing as “the good old boy network”. It's just my imagination. Am I being sarcastic? Hmmm … to quote the immortal words of Rapper 50 Cent … ”just a lil bit”. (Image credit: memecrunch.com/meme/9SD13/just-a-lil-bit) Anyway … I know most folks don't like to discuss politics and economics so I'm just saving this Huffington Post link as an historical reference marker. THE BATTLE FOR THE CONSUMER FINANCIAL PROTECTION BUREAU CONTINUES: Trump-installed consumer agency head sets hiring freeze, halts new rules
Leandra English told reporters that “Mulvaney has no authority” at the agency.

This a topic for American members. Too difficult to understand for non-US residents.

I'm not sure Americans want to talk about it.

Like Maluse, I'm not sure what this is all about but have a great day. It's warm and sunny here.

It was a lovely day here as well in Austin, Texas. Fortunately our politicians can't control the weather.
