Is it always a good thing to live to a ripe old age?....... Until you become blind, cant walk alone, you wear diapers and have drool on your face? And you're the only person you know on Facebook?

Honestly in my own family there are many relatives including my mother who are in their late eighties and nineties and all f then are able to take care of themselves . I am.not sure what is in store for me and not really looking forward to a ripe old age , that becomes just a number ..

@gratefulhappy I agree that loneliness can be very distressing especially when you are unable to take care if yourself. I guess if we dig deep into each individual case there is bound to be a reason as to why their life became that way ...but once you are old there is no looking back. May be one can have better interaction with the close family and hope they would be there to comfort and give emotional support at least ..

Thanks for your answer. It's interesting how people who live in a community don't so much mind old age but people who operate in a society of individuals tend to dread 'the golden years'. I've heard people talk about the drastic lengths of euthanasia to avoid being a burden or being lonely.

I can't wait to experience the golden age. I am seeing it with my granny at the age of 99. She's enjoying her time.

@MALUSE The illustration is an example. The first sentence is the question. "Until you become blind, cant walk alone, you wear diapers and have drool on your face?" is descriptive of the age level I'm talking about.

I would like to live as long as I am independent irrespective of age. The moment I have to depend on others I would rather go but then it is not in my hands! siva

Ha ha this is kinda funny. It is impossible for you not to know anyone on facebook, cause you still have your family, relatives and friends for sure. Right?
