Jim Nabors who will be known by fans of "The Andy Griffith Show" and the spinoff series "Gomer Pyle U S M C." passed away peacefully in his home in Honolulu Hawaii. Nabors was 87 years of age. Stan Cadwaller who was the husband of Jim Nabors reported the death of his best friend on Thursday. Nabors will always be remembered as the mechanic in Mayberry before he joined the U S Marines as the spinoff series with the late Frank Sutton playing the role of Sergeant Vince Carter. Nabors was not only a great comic character but also recorded more than 24 albums and was a very popular entertainer in Las Vegas shows. Nabors who was a homosexual married his best friend Stan Cadwaller in 2013 in Washington state where it is legal for gays and lesbians to marry. Jim will be sorely missed by people who knew him for his acting and singing the song "Back Home Again In Indiana" before the start of the Indianapolis 500 auto races.
