Day 43 Jeremiah 45 45:1 The word that Jeremiah the prophet spoke unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying, 2 Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch; 3 Thou didst say, Woe is me now! For the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest. 4 Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD says thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land. 5 And seek thou great things for thyself? Seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, says the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou go. Everyone wants to live in peace and contentment, however, that is not always possible. Baruch had concerns about what would become of him when Judah went into captivity. However, Baruch was doing God’s Work, and God assured him of his safety. God told him that his life would be a prey or spoil to him everywhere he went. He would not be a spoil or prey to anyone else, but God would show him favor by granting him his life everywhere he went. As Christians, when you do God’s work, God takes care of you. He opens doors that were otherwise closed. Puts you before people you would not have sought out on your own, to give you what you need. He prepares the way. All you need to do is go where he leads you. God’s word to Baruch is our assurance that God will do the same for us. Let’s pray: Father, show me your grace and favor with those around me. Let me be your light in the world as I do your work. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 2 December 2017 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

Yes, the majority of people would prefer to live life in peace and contentment.

Lord, make me bold! Show me your favor as I do your work. I pray that I would save more souls and disciple genuine disciples. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
