How will you react to a person who puts the blame on you for his/ her mistakes

Some people try to hide their mistakes deliberately and put the blame on an innocent person. The other person is not knowing also what is the mistake.
If anyone, it may be your friend or relative who puts the blame on you for the mistakes he has done. He has done it because he is a coward and does not have the courage to accept his mistakes.
How will you react to such a person who deliberately puts the blame on you for the mistakes he committed? Will you forgive him or will you teach him a lesson?

Pass the blame back to him. It has always been my attitude to fight back. Don't want to be treated like a rag by others. I'll never forgive him/her, leave him/her and totally avoid that person.
