Humming along

Poetic moment first thing this morning: frosty cold, temps in the 20s, me scraping the car free of ice. Simple act. Ducks and other water birds splashed and gossiped down on the creek. Or is it down in the creek? The morning frigid but lively; the sun casting shadows and cheer. The brightness brought hope: hope that the roads would not be iced, that the drive would be easy and relaxed. I am grateful for this warm house now that I am back in its shelter. In a couple of hours I will head out and give the hens their afternoon snack. For now I enjoy rainbows cast from the stained glass pieces that hang from the windows. The radio plays classical music. Its all just good.

May the roads all be ice free It's not that cold here but it is cold to me at least. I will have to wear long sleeved tshirts and a jacket if I go out to do anything today, heck, even Ally doesn't want to be outside.

@rebelann No!! Sweet days though there is pollution cause of the weather. Loving this just above freezing days and 20s at night. So much nicer on my nerves. I am not expecting it to last for very long but oh so sweet.

Sounds a great day there and it's wonderful that you're taking the time to appreciate your good fortune. I go in and out of the house in the evenings but just sometimes I remember to look up at the sky and the stars and it makes me catch my breath and remember how lucky I am.

@JudyEv Do you have few house lights around you? If so, you will have a grand view of the heavens.

You have created a wonderful picture of heaven, right down to the classical music! I am snuggled next to the heater with my fuzzy blanket wrapped around my feet. The sun is bouncing its rays off the oak tree just outside the window. I am arguing with myself about feeding Petey, the orange tabby cat, should I feed him right away or can he wait a few more minutes and have a warm meal? I'll give him the warm meal. I need to get dressed first. All my clothes will be fresh and clean as yesterday I cut out teddy bears and got little fibers from the fake fur in my clothing. If I tried to wear them today they would be itchy and all I would do is scratch! So, off to get dressed.

@BearArtistLady I am intrigued that you make teddy bears. I love the silly bears that have outfits on them- I guess I never grew up. I have a stuffed bull dog that I bought at Safeway of all places. He has a green cap on and green overalls and a white sweater. I just could not resist him!

@BearArtistLady You poor lady. I am deeply sorry for your losses. You have a beautiful heart, to help the other unfortunates. Years ago, when my daughter was little, we lived in northern Idaho. Our cabin burned to the ground. I called and called for my beloved cat but never found him. Times like that scar the soul. You are probably still in shock.

@sallypup I've never grown up either. I bought a panda on our trip last week. He's only five inches tall and now sits on the bed with the other bears. I'm taking a short break from working on a group of bears that I'm putting in my booth space tomorrow. Their being called "Phoenix" bears as they're being made from fur that wasn't destroyed in the fire that destroyed my home on October second this year. The fire took everything I owned and killed all but one of my animals. A portion of the profits from the sale of the Phoenix Bears will be donated to the local animal shelters in memory of the nine cats and the dog lost in the fire.
