Songs with real people in the title is the theme of this particular music countdown, and we are going to ratchet up the energy a few notches with #6 in the series: "Alex Chilton" by The Replacements. From their 1987 album, Pleased to Meet Me, "Alex Chilton" is a nod to the late Box Tops, and Big Star vocalist (unfamiliar? Chilton sang on the Box Tops' big hit, "The Letter," and on Big Star's "In the Street," which you are likely to remember as the theme song for That 70's Show.) "Alex Chilton," which just plain rocks, was released as a single, but never charted. Yet it remains one of The Replacements' best, most popular tunes. It is, however, a playable song in the video game, Rock Star 2. There are a ton of live performance videos of the song on You Tube, but they were all shot from the crowd and have subpar sound. Instead, I've linked to the album version. Enjoy! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

A great 80s rocker. KROQ played it a lot.

There you go, i like this count down. Real crap, people seem to have a problem with real crap. I can't blame them with how our leaders pull off illusions that are so fake. Anyway, nice 80's sound with real lyrics. I guess there was some real band from the 80's. I make bad jokes

I'm sure I've heard this before, but it's been a long time. Really cool, thanks for sharing. I do love the other song from the 70's Show.
