How can we stop sexual crimes in India

There is increase in rapes in India.Everyday we read in newspapers and also watch in news.Even small children and old women are not spared. Boys also suffer from sexual assaults. Women can't go anywhere alone. They always have the fear in mind.Even in buses they get harassed by men. How can we stop the sexual crimes in India? It is really very pity. Women are not safe anywhere.How can we stop these sexual crimes? What is the apt punishment for them?

Our safety is in our own hand only. Girls or women should learn few physical moves to save themselves. Also they should avoid place where few people are seen . They should avoid to go out alone on odd hours.

@sjvg1976 Maybe mothers and other female family members could raise boys in a different way so that they learn to treat women differently.
