I'm Homeless because I didn't want my children living with a child rapist

I can't believe the year I have had. I have been renting a room at my mother in law's house for a couple of months because we were homeless. They aren't the most trustworthy people and were already treating us like crap, and I was looking for a bigger place to live. I was in the hospital for 5 days. I was going to have surgery, but decided to wait because things were not going well at home without me. My husband paid my rent with my money after I told him not to, but they were pressuring him. I come home to my mother in law's boyfriend's brother staying with us. They picked him up from prison while I was in the hospital. He had burned down an apartment complex after locking his sister in the apartment and trying to kill her. He is also a convicted child rapist. I was livid! They wouldn't make him leave. My mother came over and was irrate. They were fighting. I called the police. I grabbed my three children, as much stuff as I could take, and left. I don't even want to go into our current living situation, but it's bad. I feel horrible. My husband was mad at me because we don't have a place to live even though he knows it really isn't my fault. They lied to us. They scammed us for the rent and told me that guy wasn't going to be living there. Even worse, they asked for $50 extra and my husband gave it to them!! No home, no Christmas, no nothing. I'm sick, I'm sad, and pissed off.

I'm really sorry that you find yourself in this situation. It can't be easy for you guys. I think you did the right thing by leaving with your kids. I would want a child rapist around my kids either.

Wow. So sorry. It sounds like you did the right thing. Can you stay temporarily with your mom? Can you go get the rest of your things? Take care.

I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles but thankfully you are able to keep the child rapist away from the children.
