Who is the ruler of this world? You might be surprised by what the Bible says. With all the terrible things happening in the world today, it’s clear that there is an EVIL power at work. 1 John 5:19 explains it well. “We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” Who is this wicked one? None other than Satan the Devil. John 12:31 gives us hope for the future however. It says: “Now there is a judging of this world, now the ruler of this world will be cast out.” So Satan is called the “ruler of this world” and he will be cast out.
