When you first think about having to sit in a chair for four hours for dialysis it seems overwhelming. Once you get into a routine those four hours fy by – especially if you are able to fall asleep. NETFLIX If you have a subscription to it, you can watch it on your phone, tablet or laptop. You can crush six to eight episodes of a series or two regular length movies. Don't forget some healthy snacks like grapes, raw vegetables and plain jerky. BOOKS Any time I have taken a book with me I have ended up falling asleep but if you are rested up you can ue that time to get through your current page-turner. COUPONS If you are a coupon cutter you can have your tools of the trade at hand, organize ones that have been cut or check the weekly ads to see who has the best prices and sales. EXERCISE You might not think you can exercise while in a dialysis chair but you can. Leg lifts, butt squeezes knee raises, arm curls etc can all be done in the chair. If you have a larger facility chances are once you start doing them, others will join in. CRAFTS While you won't have the space to do some crafts you can do cross-stitch, needlepoint, origami, knitting and more. You can also use the time to write out cards or thank you notes, clear out your cell phone, answer emails or start to learn a new language.

I'm all over butt squeezes. I'm going to start doing them when I play MyLot. Or when I'm watching football.

That is like being in jail every few days and one gets accustomed to, even can plan our schedule. Jokes apart, I know it is not easy time - siva

My wife did hemo for 2 and a half months. She did watch Netflix, but doing the hemo knocked her down so badly that she could barely do anything once she got home. We are glad she is back on PD.

I'd either want to watch a baseball game or play guitar. Could I do the latter?

You could if you were in a private room or using headphones

@freak369 Yeah, those would be my choices. I tend to want to get up and take a break when I'm reading.

All I did during those 4 hours is sleeping. Sometimes, I talk to some of the patients in the center or listen to my music playlist.
