I think I'm different. I'm unique. I like reading old books. My friends said I'm out dated, I'm ancient because I still like to keep old books and read them. It's my Dad's books which I keep and recently I began to enjoy reading them. I like reading old story books of his collection. It seems to me that they give me a feeling and a flash back of past life which I can't explain. What do you think? Is reading old books old fashioned?

@A_loves_B Love the book and love the movie too. It was my father who introduced me to Gone with the Wind. My sister is named after Scareltte O'hara. I was in high school when I read the book.

I've read Gone with the wind twice. It told a bittersweet story. After reading it, I realize that life is not merely a fairy tale with a happy ending. Life sometimes could be so bitter and leave you no option but to bit your lips and move on. It isn't only telling about the life story of Scatlett's, but It’s about extreme changes, survival, gumption. I haven't read Little Women.

There is nothing wrong in reading old books. Until and unless you have read a book it is not considered old, it is new for you.

@A_loves_B Thanks. Yes, you should ignore those who label you as old fashioned because you read old books.

Very well said. I'm trying to ignore everyone who said I'm old fashioned just because I like reading old books.

No, definitely not. I used to read old books that I found in my late grandfather's library. I don't read classics much now but every now and then I do find something that captures my interest.

Of course, it isn't. You can read whatever you like. The main thing is that you read. I'm sure that your friends don't read much. Don't listen to them. If there weren't people like you, second-hand bookshops wouldn't exist.

I agree with you. Actually the second hand bookshops should thank people like me. Lol

Good for you. Older books tend to be better written and classics standing the test of time.
