When it comes to Christmas decorating, do you like the bright and showy, the more subdued Victorian style, or the rustic homemade style? Or, is there a style I have not mentioned that you prefer? I love the old fashioned homemade rustic type of Christmas. Give me a pine cone, some cinnamon sticks, a few nuts, and some homemade ornaments and I can decorate the heck out of a home. Add to these things a few stings of popcorn, a few fathers, and whatever else you wished, and you have a wonderful, glorious tree to be proud of. When my girls were small we used to go outside, walk in the woods, gather up things we thought would be great to decorate with and carry our load home. They loved it. It started up their creative mind,, made them proud, and kept them busy and out of trouble. The biggest bonus was...we had a beautiful homemade Christmas

That photo is lovely. I never did care for gaudy decorating.

I am not into the bright and shiny myself. To me it is more special when you have a tree decorated with memories.

I prefer simple too. We do not have a variety of choices here in the garden though, since we have no winter here We just decorate some trees with ornaments and out up our old Christmas decorations

They aren't bad if you get them from outside. Or you can buy them cinnamon scented.

I love to look at all types of decoration when tastefully done. For my own living room I like the homemade,, rustic type of look.

Homemade is the best kind. Showy seems cold and harsh to me.

How about the style of grab some greens and drape them over old clocks and mirrors and dressers? Not sure what that style is. I wish I had some holly. I'm missing holly.

That to me is a part of the homemade rustic nature style. I also use greens from outdoors. I love the look of holly, it too bad it is so hard to come by.

We are used to having plastic Christmas trees here. And many other kinds of Christmas trees made from indigenous materials such as coconut fronds, bamboo sticks and more.

I love it that way. Each year you accomplish a different arrangement of homemade, memory making items.

I like the home made and Victorian . I am not a fan of ultra modern and false like black or white trees.

I have also been drawn to the Victorian look for Christmas. When we had a bigger house and had two trees one of them was always rustic an one tended towards Victorian.
