Trying to get motivated

Ahhh!!! That's better! I moved to the couch from the horrible dining chairs. Gee I miss my furniture! I have to get going and get ready for two doctor's appointments today. I also have to drop off the shop key I forgot to leave Wednesday. I really don't feel like going except that the doctor's appointments are do medication refills. I also have a couple of things for the business to pick up. I'd rather curl up and get some sleep. I didn't sleep well last night. Bill's bed is like sleeping on an aircraft carrier deck! Cement would seem like a feather bed in comparison! Lol. I really miss my waterbed!!!! I even had my mom sleeping on one the last ten years of her life. Anyhow I just can't get myself to the point of wanting to get going...well let me change that a bit, I would if Bill said we were going shopping for a Siamese kitten!!!! I could be ready in a half a heart beat! But that's about as apt to happen as a bridge would be built from New York to England. The only animals allowed in his house are his daughter's dogs. So, I'm going to have to push to motivate myself. How about you other Monday lovers? Are you pushing yourselves to get motivated?

Motivation? Oh this is the hardest thing for me and I don't particularly like Mondays. Having said that I am forever trying to motivate myself, this is a relatively new thing for me. Well, there were the previous bouts of depression and anxiety that killed off any form of motivation completely but the past is the past and I have just walked through the gate of becoming a new man! Motivation is key for me now and there are different forms of motivation like for example starting my day with two soft boiled eggs using my shiny new egg boiler! The thing really wakes you up with a huge buzzing sound, makes me rush to the device aiming for the switch so that I can enjoy my eggs in peace. Then of course there are the regular gym and swimming sessions. Every Monday like clock work I am down at my local leisure centre. It is kind of nice to see others building up a sweat, that motivates you and tends to push you well, it does me! Yesterday we had a lot of snow fall and it was nice to finally receive some snow considering that Christmas is right around the corner. The snow and would be enough to put anyone off venturing out and going about their regular routines. Ending up back home I love to read! I love to escape into a good book well, why not? A good book helps you to escape the world, for a short while at least. Yes, I'm motivated and I sincerely hope that I can keep that inner fire burning over the coming days, weeks and years!

I'm going through bouts of depression. I ended up homeless on October second of this year. I came home from a doctors appointment to my house on fire. My first thought was for my animals and I was out of my friend's car and racing for the inferno... It took three burley firemen to hold me back. I lost everything including my car and my animals. I am still suffering PTSD and depression from it. I moved from snow country nearly 40 years ago. I just couldn't handle all that white stuff. Nor the below zero temperatures. Oops! I have an hour to get ready to go. I guess I need to "push" myself. Will talk at you more later.

@BearArtistLady Well, receiving snow over here in the UK is really unusual particularly in London. That doesn't sound too good as regarding ending up homeless, must have been quite difficult for you. Quite a shocking experience all round I guess. So, you are presently going through bouts of depression? I wish you well. It is good that you are trying to motivate yourself though. I have just woken up and it is feeling very cold. Thankfully it is another day of working from home for me, I consider that a blessing. Anyway, have a nice day.

@AndrewFreyne I'm going through bouts of depression quite often and I have no warning what will bring them on. After the fire I was told I would suffer from PTSD for a very very long time. That was a very cheery piece of news! But it seems like when the days get really bleak something happens to brighten it up immensely. Today was one of those days. I was really depressed, then the pharmacy told me that the soonest they could fill my pain med prescription would be on Wednesday when they got their delivery of controlled meds. (There's something wrong there, I can sense it and feel it in my bones...but that's another subject for later.) I left Wal Mart madder than a March Hare. I fumed about it all the way home. We got home and unloaded the car, and I proceeded to feed the cat. Much to my surprise I found a couple of boxes and a tote bag on the back porch. On a hunch I took the tote bag and the smallest box in the house. I set the tote bag on the dining room table and opened the zippers. Inside was a sewing machine, but not just any sewing machine, it is an Elna Lotus! I've been wanting one for 43 years! It's like Santa came two weeks early! I periodically have to check and make sure I'm not dreaming!!! I know I won't have problems being motivated tomorrow!!! Oh, I work from home too. I design and make teddy bears. I've been doing it for forty years and have won tons of awards for my work. My avatar bear is one of my designs. What is your business?

That's really good rina :) Getting motivated isn't always easy, I find that but still, it is a work in progress I guess. All the best.

I think part of my having to push myself yesterday was I hadn't gotten enough sleep. The bed's too hard to start with, I'm an old hippy, I like my waterbed. I lay on Bill's bed and I ache places I didn't know I had! . Then I woke up needing to pee so I got up, walked down the hallway, and stopped in front of the bathroom door just in time to scare the hell out of Bill!! Pay back time for all the times he's scared the crap outta me!!! . Anyhow I got a pretty good night's sleep and Santa came two weeks early (read my response to Andrew about Santa) so I won't need much help getting motivated today.

One of my best motivators is my animals. I usually need to feed them or let them out side. Or they're in my lap or in the middle of what I'm doing. It may not sound like much help, but when you have a happy furry purring face gazing up at you it makes you want to get busy for your "fur" baby.
