Tomorrow (Tuesday) is going to be a busy day, so I figured I would get this out there before the fun starts. I'm counting down my favorite songs with real people in the title ( @FourWalls is also doing the same countdown, so be sure to check her's out as well!) I am at #1 in the series: "Bela Lugosi's Dead" by Bauhaus. I've used "Bela Lugosi's Dead" in a few countdowns, and rightly so. It is not only considered the first goth song, but as far as I'm concerned, it's the greatest goth tune ever recorded. It's also, as Bauhaus' first single, the song that causes many to peg Bauhaus as the band that invented goth. If you've ever seen the David Bowie/Susan Sarandon film, The Hunger, you've heard it, as it's played at the beginning of the movie. However, the song failed to chart anywhere. Still, it's a goth classic. I've linked to a video of a live performance, because it was a definite highlight when I saw them. Enjoy! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

Bow-house: dog kennel. This song was my introduction to Bauhaus. I concur with your assessment.

Just some weird band from England. They had potential, but didn't leave a mark or anything.

Let me put it this way: had this not been the #1 song I would have reported your account as hacked. I think this was the first Bauhaus song I heard. A copy-worthy series, if I do say so myself!
