The price of fame of using social media to speak up against bullying

Keaton Jones who gained his fame on social media by going on Facebook to plead his case against being bullied is now finding out that social media fame is a double edged sword. Where have I heard of that song and dance? Oh yes. Most celebrities living and dead have expressed their views that being rich and famous is a double edged sword. Good thing of fame is that a lot of people will admire you for taking a stand while on the other side of the coin is that people will find flaws with your beliefs for taking a stand on a controversial issue. The Keaton Jones haters are accusing him and his mother of being racists since they have seen with Confederate flags in their possession and now some of the haters are accusing the Jones family for using fraud tactics to raise money by playing on their fears of bullying. In the words of the late Donna Summer she mentioned once in an interview that she had to have "The skin of a rhinoceros" since she was either loved for her music but hated for her stances due to her Christian faith. Now some of the haters of Keaton Jones are comparing him to Sloth of "The Goonies" fame. The double edged sword of fame strikes again.

I feel bad for this kid. Either he was bullied, which most of me thinks he was, which is terrible! Or his mom made him do the video and lie, which is what most are saying now.. and that is also terrible.

Some reports are saying he had it coming because he called some Black students the racial slur. Since I was not there I have no comment.

This is clearly racist bullying. Do you agree now?

It is not nice to use the internet or person to person talks to take down another person due to his or her looks. Just learn not to let it consume you.

I've heard about that last night on Entertainment Tonight. A lot of celebs are with him like Chris Evans and Justin Bieber. Now that's so wrong to pick on him. Enough already on the racist bullying.

My late mom who was Hispanic would say "You have nothing that I do not have. We all are going to buy the farm and see our Creator."

@KristenH My late mom always taught me and three older sisters to respect people different from ourselves.

Now it's a crime to have the stars and bars in any form.

I know what you mean. Could you imagine the outrage if I am photographed wearing a Costa Rica baseball cap? They would say "Hey Tico how is your uncle doing? Digging ditches?"

Getting called mean names on the internet or in person is very bad. The best way to beat a bully is to learn if a person insults you and it is not true, use a positive word as payback.
