Look JJ Scar isn't the only one who had a "tree"

My old man did as well when he was a young cat. This picture was actually taken in the first week that we moved into the house so he had to be like 2 by then. My husband would want me to point out how terrible the lawn looks and tell you that now it is lush terrain which is absolutely true. Anyway, my old man and the fluffy black cat (who was also the same age so she was an old lady but it isn't polite to mention that) tried staking out the tree when we moved it but it was pretty much only squirrels who visited it after they killed the first visitors. Then they stopped hanging out at the base of the tree like @JolietJake 's Scar likes to and started taking up different positions in the yard throughout all of their years to try to pick off the mice, chipmunks, rabbits, etc. that came through here. The black girl even got a squirrel once which caused all sorts of headaches and vet bills. I am missing them so much tonight.

@NJChicaa Actually, I think we do understand since we do the same with our children. Plus my dog is my fur baby, I helped her through labor and bottle fed a couple of her babies. She's one of my children, and my heart is going to break in half when it's her time to go.

I don't know when I'll stop missing him so much. I just made a full dinner and I don't even want to eat it. I'm too upset. I know people with children don't understand, but that cat was my whole world. I bottle-fed him when he was 4 weeks old, I took care of all of his various injuries, I bought the little jerk a GPS tracker for his collar so I would always know where he was in the neighborhood because I was so concerned, and then I finally had to let him go because he had very advanced cancer and was suffering. That cat was like my child. I had him longer than I've had my husband. As much as I love my bad orange cat, even my love for him isn't like it was for SoCo.

He was a great boy. Gave us so many years of companionship. We miss him so much and for some reason I just miss him so much today. I would do anything to get him back. He was my heart. It has been broken for the past several months.

We had a lovely cat that I miss, too. Cats have so much personality, they are very hard to forget, once they're gone.

my old man cat was one in a million. I've had many and fostered many many more. I'll never have another like him.
