What are the Veggies available there in the Restaurants.?

I really experienced a lot during my stay in the U.S. I stayed in New York. It was my first visit. Every day, I was getting up and peeping through the window if anybody was on jog. I was finding many people jogging a lot and most of the aged doing a long walk. When I was visiting restaurants, happened to be a vegetarian most of the time was searching for the veg items only. I do not if I had tasted any Non-veg also unknowingly. It is nobody's fault. I was sometimes preferring teh stuff made of Egg.It was some 12 yrs back. Now many things might have changed a lot. I could not find any good vegetarian restaurants and I had to compromise on many things.Cousin was also quite new. We were going to some Vegetable shops and purchasing Noodles and some flour to prepare something out of that. I really could not my stay there. Can you please tell me some the pure vegetarian snacks available in the restaurants of U.S and how are they served?
