Dreamt about an ex last night

I had a dream last night that included an ex boyfriend - to be exact, the dream wasn't about him but I bumped into him in the street while I was going about my dream business.
When I woke up today I had a reminder on Facebook for my friend's birthday, which reminded me that it's also the aforementioned ex's birthday!
It's amazing how our dreams work, sorting through our memories even when we think we've forgotten something 
I know it's boring hearing about other people's dreams but I've been having some really interesting ones recently that have helped me to rearrange some unhelpful thought processes 
so they're on my mind a lot this week

Me too, the extent of my knowledge is limited to what I read on dream websites each time I'm interested in what a specific one means

I had a similar dream last week, about someone whom I used to contact to three decades ago. A bit weird to suddenly dream of that person again. Well, turned out that something happened two days later which had something to do with that person. (Too trivial for me to remember right now what the whole thing was about, but it was interesting regardless!)
