“Are you like me who knows a thing or two about repairing computers?”

There are times that my desktop is turning my world upside down. In times like this, I need to ask an assistance from a computer technician. I am not an all-knowing person. If I tried to administer any technical intervention, I might damage the desktop. Thus, I need to call a computer technician’s home service to give his helping hand. “Can you repair your computer?” “Have you tried to troubleshoot the computer’s technical lapses?” Image Credit: pixabay.com

I believe I replaced everything on my first desktop, only the case was the original one. On a laptop, it is often impossible, they have to be repaired by somebody agreed by the brand, as many are using brand specific codes for their internal components : if you do not know what is the real name of a chip, you cannot replace it.

@Shavkat It is not that it is too difficult, the brand made it voluntarily impossible by using its own names for components, and you have mandatorily to order them to the brand or to have the component replaced by one of their technicians.

@topffer The sad part is, some companies based in my country do suck in providing technical support.

I do agree on that. Some computer technicians claimed it is too difficult to replace some component of the lappy. In some cases, it needs to order them directly to the specific brand's company.

I can try turning it off and on again, but that's the extent of my knowledge. Thankfully, we have a former computer telephone tech in our home.

You've got a handy man out there, my friend. I hope I can have an on-call computer technician.

Same as @topffer, I can do everything to repair my desktop, I would not mess up a lot with my laptop, even if I was able to remove the hard drive, replace the CMOS battery and change the HD.

I think it is fine. We can have an online tutorial on youtube. They do give some steps to follow in troubleshooting.

When I went inside our computer to get something fixed, we needed to buy a new computer! LOL Now, whenever there's a problem, we call a technician, also!
