Reason why not tell your plan or goal to other people

If they know would inspect you at every time and comment on everything you do and this could lower your confidence.
By letting out your plan or goal you kind of given a commitment of what you are going to do this might increase their expectations and the pressure of completing it on you.

I don't know why many people do this things to others, instead of helping but no they prefer to be on top by stepping on others down just to go up...and I agree, a better way is to keep things in secret that may surprise them in the future...
