Housing Situations

Hello everyone in myLot land! Hope you all are having a pleasant Saturday wherever you exist. My Saturday began at 7:30 AM when my daughter came in and told me to wake up so we could work on homework. Ugh! It only took half the morning to get it all done. Anyhow...housing situations. What am I talking about you ask? Well, some people are lucky and can live as just parents and their children in a home. Nowadays, this isn't the case. Blended families co-exist in homes. This can be helpful when it comes to finances. But then it can be a total hinder. In my case, my father has been living with my husband, daughter, and I since 2003ish. He moved out once on his own, but due to finances, he ended up moving back in with us. He has moved a total of four times with us when we moved. We are hoping this is our final move until our retirement, which by then we will be empty nested and parent less. Sounds sad, right? But I am waiting for the day where I can walk around my house in my skives and not feel embarrassed. My father used to act like he owned our houses, at least with the last three houses we lived in. He would get angry when we didn't jump and start cleaning house or working in the yard. Hum...he doesn't work and sits around all day doing what he wants; my husband, daughter, and I are working/in school and are gone close to 10ish hours each day. Yes, maybe I am whiny. But I am also exhausted. See my post anxiety..depression...stress to see what I mean. So does anybody else in myLot land have the blended family situation? I would love to hear what kind of housing situations are out there. It might make mine look like a gingerbread house lol.

Most households in the my country have a blended and even extended family situation. My brother lives with my parents. I have my own place, and so are my other two siblings. This holiday season we'll be going home. Temporarily, we'll be having a blended family situation until New Year.

We at one point had my husband's aunt living with us. It was really tough. She would get onto our kids quite a bit-even when we were in the same room, she would get mad when we cooked what our family enjoyed instead of what she wanted to eat, she also acted as though she owned our home, and she would get in the middle of conversations my husband and I would have. Looking back...I wish I showed her Jesus' love more instead of losing patience and wanting her to leave so bad. =( We can't change the past of course, but I would have done things differently now if I had the chance. I wasn't mean or anything but I could have been more loving.
