Life hack: Whiteboard edition

I was thinking the other day, how I haven't written any of my life hacks lately for you all. Here's one that I use quite a bit. I bought a whiteboard (much smaller than the one in the picture) - and hung it on the back of my door. (I had to fashion a "hanger" for it out of twine and staples, and I hung it up using one of those removable wall hooks) So usually I jot down whatever is pressing that I think I might forget. If I'm going out of town it might be stuff like - "Turn off modem, shut down computers, pack clothes, ..." Or depending on where I'm going it's stuff like - "Take with tools" or "pick up prescription". Now, I'm a big time note maker, but I can't begin to mention the amount of times I've forgotten my note. At least this I see as I'm leaving the house. Are you a note maker/list maker? Photo: Pixabay

Yes, I do make lists, because with my mind I would forget most things. I tend to have my lists and notes on my phone though.

I have OCD, and my particular problem is writing lists. I have (oh so many) notebooks of lists that will never help me or anyone else, but somehow it helps my anxiety. I even number many of my lists on MyLot. Your lists are very helpful to and that's great. We also keep a small board on the fridge, but mainly put food items we need from the store. when we run out.

No, I don't. I just do things as they come. I should use a board. I tend to space out things that I need to do.

It is a brilliant idea to use this kind of board to remind ourselves of the pending activities. . I also believe in making a list of 'to do' things.

@FayeHazel Yes, white board comes handy and visible so as to see our pending tasks. Hopefully, you do not forget to dispose of any task.

I have a magnetic notepad that I got at a Bingo party - well it was a Mother's/Friend's day party and they played Bingo. I chose that prize. I have it on my fridge. If I put something on there I need, I don't need to take the note with me, I'll remember it. If I don't put anything on it, I'll forget it. This morning I forgot paper towels and forgot to put it on that list. I got everything else I needed though. I stopped at Walgreen's on my way home from getting my hair done and got the paper towels along with a few more items I seriously didn't need.

@FayeHazel That night Bingo was part of the party, but usually it costs to play Bingo. I don't play bingo very often. I think that was the first time in over ten years.

Oh those magnetic notepads are cool too! What a great idea - play bingo for small prizes, that would be way fun!

@FayeHazel Good idea to have something handy to write things down so you do not forget. I use my diary or write on paper.

@Hannihar You'll laugh …. If I get junk mail, flyers, etc - that are only printed on one side - I cut them into 1/4ths and staple them together and use for notes. It makes me feel like I'm recycling, and they're free :-)

I am a big list maker! Scraps of paper to write on throughout the house. My notes can create a messy environment in my office for someone who likes things in order. I need to make a note to remind myself to clean up all these notes

I don't really write myself many notes, but there are times when I think I really should, and a whiteboard would come in VERY handy.

Ah, that must be nice, not many notes, I mean. I write, re-write them. I just finished most of the things on one, so I carried the left over tasks on to another note I had for myself

If I write a note and leave the house I will forget it so I write the notes on my phone which is always with me. If it’s a to do list of things when I will be home to do them then I just write them down on paper.
