Found my missing friend

I finally found my missing friend and well, I am hoping it will all come out in the news in time. He is in prison. I just spoke to a friend of his and learned that this is a miscarriage of justice. It makes me so mad. The guy who attacked my son with a matchete got what is effectively a shorter sentence. This all began from filling in a form and it turns out not even wrongly. I am just so cross right now. The original reporting was skewed. A photo from 20 years before all this began was used to begin with and there were a lot of other lies. His friend filled me in a lot. I suggested finding an investigative jounalist. Just to add to it the poor guy is on the ground floor. That is where they put the disabled and pedophiles. Go figure what happpens if you say you are on that wing. 400 days.....that is insane. Even if guilty it is insane. And it is one of the hardest prisons. .....No way should he be there at all. Ugh...ugh....ugh...but at least I know he is alive....and it seems my friend has a lot of friends sticking by him.

That does sound like a miscarriage of justice. I hope he's able to get out when they find the truth and I hope that's soon.

That's very sad - and very wrong. I hope something can be done for him.

So glad you finally found him and can put your mind at rest on that score. I know you can't talk about why he's there, but if he's been there over a year it's unlikely that he's completely innocent. Perhaps, rather than an investigative journalist, he needs a very good solicitor?

It's complicated. He is innocent but was made to look very guilty through skewed reporting before the trial and is a little bit of a maverick so doesn't go down very well in court. I feel I can't see more publicly yet but I do think it will all come out in time. Whether he was innocent or guilty he should not be where he is for the kind of crime he was convicted for or being treated like he is. I personally feel it is one person being scapegoated. Apparently he didn't even get medication for a month and he has a very bad back which is why he's in a wheelchair. I happen to know that the bad back is true because we went for tried to go for a walk back in the summer and he had to give up. Of course this is the opinion of his friends of which I am one, but I don't think any of us are deluded as to this guy's character. We are notdeluded as to his faults that we also know that this is a miscarriage of Justice. The person who told me all about where he was had actually been present at the beginning and at the first court case and it looks like he had a very incompetent solicitor. It's may also be a case of the big guy going after the little guy. This happens more than we think.
