During the Christmas holidays, people have to look out for scam artists who attempted to use his "Grandson in trouble" ruse to attempt to steal $2,300 from a senior citizen named Cecil Rodgers a few days ago. The scam artist made a call to Cecil claiming to be his grandson who had a "traffic accident" and he needed at least $2,300 dollars to make bail so he could see his grandfather. Then the scam artist had an "attorney" to ask Cecil to send the bail money. Then Cecil went to a Wal Mart store in Cincinnati Ohio to withdraw the money. Wal Mart clerk Audrella Taylor then told Cecil that she felt like Cecil was being scammed by a con artist and she refused to make the transaction telling Cecil to call his grandchildren to confirm the story of the grandson being in jail; When Cecil called his grandchild to ask them if he was in jail, his grandson said he was safe and sound. Audrella thanks to her quick thing saved Cecil from blowing his hard earned savings to a scam artist.

That's a variation of an age scam with the elderly.

It really bothers me that scam artists take advantage of senior citizens to be victims of scams.

Lucky the clerk knew well enough not to proceed with the transaction! Huge relief for Cecil I'm sure.

@CookieMonster46 Or the caller was able to take advantage of him by telling him some bad news.

This is tragic, that anyone would scam another person out of their hard earned money! Thank God, Audrella told Cecil to call his grandson

That is true because had Audrella not acted on her feeling of a scam artist, Cecil would have his life savings wiped out by a crook.
