The entertainment world lost an iconic sports caster on Thursday when former San Diego Padres baseball announcer Dick Enberg passed away in his home in La Jolla California of an apparent heart attack. Enberg was 82 years of age. My memories of the late Dick Enberg was when he hosted a sports trivia show named "Sports Challenge." which pitted three sports players that represented their team versus another trio of sports stars of the same team to answer trivia questions when that show played on the Southern Command Network (SCN) in Panama. Enberg worked as a sports announcer of major sports championships like the Olympics, college basketball, Major League Baseball and on the National Broadcasting Company sports show "Sports world" Enberg retired from his work in broadcasting sports events at the end of the 2016 Major League Baseball season working for the San Diego Padres.

Man, what a legend. He had such a pleasant voice and was so knowledgeable about the game, whether he was calling an NCAA basketball tournament or a Padres baseball game.
