How can I say no to making this when my oldest asks if we can sew some barbie clothes? Then my middle daughter who is sick said a new dress would make her feel better. So after they picked out material.. this little scrap left over from making an apron, wrapped perfectly size/ around to be about barbie size. So I tried my best to make a dress. I used some elastic in the waist to bring it in. The top is actually two sections that cris-cross and tie in the back. Its my first attempt at sewing barbie clothes... minus when I tried as a kid! :) Gosh it brings back memories of my mom. She use to make these giant ball room flowing barbie dresses and all other kinds of things.

That looks really nice Aren't you clever? There are probably patterns online for Barbie clothes if you need patterns.

@Daelii It's great that your daughters are learning to sew. It is such a handy skill.

I plan to look! My daughter can cut and pin clothes for herself. So I know she will be thrilled to do Barbie patterns!

You did a good job. I made a couple Barbie dresses as a kid too. Yes, wonderful memories.

I'm amazed at how well Barbie's have lasted! My kids are playing with some I used 20 years ago. They also have wicker furniture from when my mom played with hers like what 50 years ago? Something like that

@Daelii More than that. I gave my daughter a 50th anniversary edition Barbie for her 28th birthday. She's 43 now.
