The Partridge fell out of the Pear Tree.

Several years ago; I was at a Christmas party. We sang the song Twelve days of Christmas. When we got to the last Partridge in the Pear Tree; a friend of sang and the Partridge fell out of the Pear Tree. I thought this was kind of funny because it was the first time I heard it that way.
Have you heard it this way?

I know it says a partridge in a pear tree. My friend was just trying to be funny.
