I have been on online sites for eight years now. Each site seems to have a soul and attracts different types of people. There are always the few who stand out. I can never forget some who came alive through their participation. They may not have made such an impact at another site as the chemistry among members varies. I have had fulfilling rides everywhere. Among the memories that touched me I recall the few that stood out. One was a comment on another that I made. It was a polite and positive take but another commented with a negative twist. And the author of the post went by that and was upset. I went over again my comment and found there was nothing to bring forth such a reaction. I made a request to her to read my comment again and she then realized she had been misled. She did apologize and it was hunky-dory again. Then there were the sparks flying between contributors at another site with some vicious comments and posts too. I cannot forget one feisty lady who was so supportive of my efforts but would not give an inch to compromise. And out of the blue I heard she had passed away though she was young. I cannot forget the few who stood out for various reasons but over here we are in calm waters thanks to Administrator who stands firm. You may have had also some experiences that you would like to share. Image: Interaction

I've not had anything happen that was worth griping about.

Thanks, we all move on. What I highlighted was about one that was triggered by another's comment. There are clear guidelines here that are enforced too so that no one goes overboard - siva

My experience here has been good. At another site there was free for all as site administrators took a hands off approach - siva

I had some as you mentioned but then I considered it to be trivial and got over it.

Yes Ocean Tiara, we all leave our footprints on the sands of time. I remember all those who touched my life even those for the wrong reasons but then I think they also enriched my life here - siva

The sites come alive in many ways and though contributors are an integral part, to keep it going on a steady footing the administrator plays a crucial role - siva

It's amazing how others writing can affect us greatly. With time I learned to let things just get pass by me in order to keep on my energy.

I wanted to share my experiences, the pluses and minuses. We want to have a good time and we have to be truthful in how we express ourselves. However, one cannot be negative, act on impulse, and a wet blanket to douse the camaraderie in sites - siva

A pen is still mightier than a computer at times, especially when your writing is lost, for some reason online.
I also have been writing on various online writing sites since 2006, when I originally started writing with a site called Helium. With a name like that, there was some hot air blown around at times, but most of us were friendly writers who kept our cool.

@Shiva49 That's true. I also like to challenge sometimes, by providing an alternative viewpoint to others. I do not do this to make trouble though, just to widen the scope of the discussion.

Yeah, it is only a minority that look for trouble and it is their problem to overcome. However, I have also enjoyed my interaction with them and like in real life we need the challenges to prove our mettle on online sites too! siva
