How many of you find the holidays a very lonely time for you?

I thought this post would be appropriate since Hannuka just finished and Christmas is upon those that celebrate it. How many of you do not have someone to celebrate with and are very lonely at this time of year? This year was a year I really enjoyed Hannuka. I went to spend one day with a friend I have not seen in awhile and really had a good time. Holidays I know can be lonely times for some people that do not have family close to them or are far away from them and cannot get to them.

Well. I should be the one to be lonely. I have no one with me. But I don't. I feel enjoyed alone too. Yeah, it would be a different time if I were with somebody and with family members but it's okay. I think you enjoyed your, Hannuka well and enjoying Christmas too! Happy Merry Christmas to you!

Aashish, one can enjoy a holiday alone too. I only celebrate Hannuka. I am Jewish and live in my Homeland where we have many holidays to celebrate here.

Well. I don't feel loneliness at the time of holidays. Having 10 days of holidays (today being the second of those); I have some other priorities to accomplish. Do them together with celebrating the holidays. It is easy and simple.

vh, you said you have 10 days of holidays. What holidays do you celebrate in India that last 10 days?

@Hannihar As far as India is concerned, there are multiple festivals. In fact, if we celebrate all festivals, then half the year will be holidays. It is difficult for companies to manage like that. So, different companies have taken different approaches. There are 8 - 15 compulsory holidays (depends on company to company) applicable to everyone in a year; 100 - 125 optional holidays of which 2 - 6 can be availed in a year (again depends on company to company). If you plan it wisely, you are likely to enjoy more days Normally, 10 days continuous holidays are rare. But 2017 was fortunate.
