So cold the car wouldn't start today

It was -22F (-30C) today so when we went out to start the car this afternoon it just didn't want to go so we decided to walk over to the grocery store. It is about a 20 minute walk each way so it was a bit chilly. I was bundled up good, long johns and all. 
After we got back home our friend came over and gave us a boast and it started right up so then we went out and did the rest of the errands we needed to do. Tomorrow is suppose to be even colder. The battery is fairly new but it is bitterly cold. There were lots of cars that wouldnt start today.
Anyway we are home and the turkey is almost cooked. Smells so good in here. Hope you all are having a wonderful day/night.

@Happy2BeMe I'm sorry, I meant to say 5 years on the battery, but if it is the original battery, then that doesn't help.
We had to replace the one in our SUV a couple of years ago, and that was in the summer time, it just didn't want to start back up again, and of course it left us stranded.

Good job you were able to get to the things that you needed.
A lot of cars will not start here either because of the cold weather.

Very cold weather here but cars are okay starting up lots of very damp weather though so hope your car starts up when you most need it as I know that feeling of being stuck in the middle of nowhere.

@Happy2BeMe Aha. Now I know! Yet, -35°C is only a number for me. I can't imagine it or feel it. It never becomes that cold in Central Europe.

oh geez. That is an obscenely cold temperature. I would pick up and move to Mexico for awhile!
It was like 15 F when I left for the gym this morning and my husband asked "are you taking the truck?" I said NO and wondered why he would ask that. My sister was HORRIFIED that I showed up to the gym in my cute little convertible. Apparently it was about to start snowing any minute. . . and it did! People thought I wasn't going to be able to drive home but I was fine until I got back into my town an hour and a half later. Spun out trying to turn onto the bridge. Could barely make it up onto the bridge. Then I slipped into the intersection of a highly-traveled road. 
Mazda MX-5 Miatas don't do well in the snow!

My car wouldn't start one day and now the tire pressure light is on inside the car but that is also caused by the cold, as if the cold itself wasn't bad enough we need these other car issues lol

@Happy2BeMe It is and it is really getting old isn't it?I know it could be worse, we could have been hit by the hurricanes or a tornado or the wildfires but geez how about a few months with no drain on our emotions or finances!!! That's what I am wishing for 2018.

Well, there have been enough discussion on vegan and all other things! I am a vegetarian but I don’t mind other eating meats if they really like it! However I wish they would stop eating!
Well, Yeah! It must be cold out there, in Canada! Here it is cold but not so much! Days are warm and adorable !
