I think I did something crazy!!

So, I had a pearl party this past week and it went great. There were only 6 people but we made it to $320 in sales and $200 was profit! And we only opened 33 oysters of the 112 that I took over. Well those same people want to have another party and may have even more people at this next one. So I feel like I did something crazy. I took the $200 I made in profit and bought more pearl stuff. I got 55 more oysters, 5 of which have twin pearls so those will be put into the grab bags. I also got a TON of pendants and about 25 percent of the ones I ordered are ones that the hostess specifically asked for. So.......It may be crazy or it might not be considering I only have one party in the future. Possibly two if my sister can convince some of her friends to have a party. But I'm also thinking about using my pearl business for good. The hostess of the last party was telling me that her daughter's cheerleading team needs new uniforms because the football team took all the money out of their account for their uniforms. So, I was thinking that if she asked all the adults associated with the cheerleaders to come to a party, then I would donate 75 percent of the profits to the team. I would of course take all my costs out so that I wouldn't actually lose any money and then 25% would be for me. If 30 people showed up and purchased something, we could be looking at a $1500 party with $1000 going to for the teams new uniforms.

There are a ton of them on facebook. I could do live parties on facebook but then I'd have to ship the items to whoever after opening them on camera. I prefer to do them in person where the person buying from me is literally only a foot away from me and can see their pearls firsthand. Then there is no shipping involved, however, I am going to be posting some of my items on Facebook to sell them. I love opening oysters but don't like getting stuck with the pearls lol.

@CountryGirl31 so is it a guarantee of a pearl in each oyster? Or is that just luck and the appeal of the party?

@Plethos There is a guaranteed pearl in every oyster. I've opened 50 so far and each one has had a pearl.

Well, there is the business flourishing out there! That's great. I hope it will flourish more in the coming days. Yeah, in this New Year, you will have a lot of parties to attend and you can take the advantage for sure. Thank you for sharing!

It is as long as you know alot of people who would want to have a party or if you decided to host live parties on facebook. I really dont want to do that cuz then I'd have to charge shipping fees and make sure everything is shipped on time. I'd rather do the parties in person that way everyone can be completely happy with what they get. If someone ordered from me and I shipped them a pearl they saw on a video but it dried a different color, I dont think they would be completely happy with that.
