Welcoming in 2018

Some years I stay up to watch the new year arrive.
There have been years when I have nursed a sick child (a lot of those) and have been awake to welcome the New Year.
This year....the princess was in bed (asleep), hubby has a bad cold and I was exhausted. My bed welcomed me at 10:30 PM.
That doesn't mean I can't wake up and say,
Happy New Year!

Happy New Year ! We had New Year evening Gala on TV last night, but I was too tired to see it through and hit the hay at 10 PM.

I'd say it's a sign of age, but my husband and I rarely stayed up to ring in the new year when we were young.
Have a healthy and happy 2018!

If you aren't sleeping, Mylot can be a good place to be.

@Morleyhunt Yes you are right. I am very often here on Friday and Saturday nights. Rest of the days I have to sleep early to wake up next morning to work.

That is 50+ quilt squares pinned to my design wall. They have since been sewn together and I have a different quilt on my design wall.

I'm pretty flexible. It's writing the date that will trip me up a time or two.
Hope you and your family have a healthy and happy 2018!

We rarely stay up to ring in the new year. One memorable New Years Eve, New Years Day we welcomed a baby girl at 11:56 PM on December 31.

Sometimes sleep seems much more important than seeing in the new year.

Sleep generally rates far above staying up to ring in the New Year. Hope that you and your family have a happy and healthy 2018.

@Morleyhunt I don't know where you find the patience. I sighed the first time the teacher told us to do one piece for her to mark (a fashion design course!). I did my best, and my best was awful. I am just not gifted in this area. (My embroidery was awful too .)

@YrNemo my sewing teacher from highschool would have told you I was the least likely student to sew another stitch. My project was horrible. I didn't enjoy it and managed to get one panel of my skit inside out and upside down. That was an accomplishment.

Thank you John! It was a good day. I watched the Parade. I saw the Burlington Teen Tour Band...but couldn't identify my grandson from the crowd.
All the best wishes for a healthy and happy 2018!
