This idea is way ahead of the rest. Beyond the mail order menus for magazines and the 1-year or 2-year subscription for a major price discount on your favorite magazines. I have a solution to those lost magazines that never find their way into your mailbox. No. 1. You don't have to wait for your next magazine to arrive folded up or torn or water damaged or worse, missing entirely from your mail box at home or the office. No. 2. You pre-pay for a year or two years to a magazine of your choosing. No. 3. You pick up that pre-pay magazine card at your current retailer or order it online, then activate it with your own personal 4 DIGIT PIN and every month you can go to your favorite retail store that sells the magazine on the racks and you can pick one up and have it scanned at the discount price at the register. You're good to go. The prime benefits of having like a COSMOPOLITAN MAGAZINE or WIRED magazine CARD, (This is my own idea, not yet a fact., but an example to consider) - you don't have to send a payment in the mail each year to renew. You can re-load the card at the end of a 12 month or 24 month period at the local retailer and go from there. Everybody wins. No more missing magazines at the porch steps, laying in the soaking wet grass at the bottom of the steps. No more missing issues and no more worries about the mail man reading your magazines before you get to read them with crease marks, rips and tears and folds and that way you can get it at the discount price, not the newsstand price and take it home. Everyone is a winner. The mail man don't have to carry the extra weight either. Win-Win situation I think. My idea. I should get credit for this. If the idea ever becomes a reality, you know it was Anthony Davis, from myLot, who came up with this brilliant idea first. The idea could lead to more funtastic pre-pay cards like Newspaper Pre-Pay cards to pick up a newspaper the same way and get the same basic rate, paperback and hardback books, and even a year subscription to Kroger News if you are into that kind of thing. Just another thought from me as I bring in the new year with ideas to share for everyone to take a look at. But wait, I haven't yet Googled it. OMG! What if this idea is already being put to work? I will check right now. And the results of that search will be listed in a link below, if such a thing already exists, and there is a wide margin for the probability of such a thing.
