Do you think modern day songs lack meaning? / myLot

I have found that the underground music culture has continued to put out great content.With access to the internet it is easier to discover new music all the time. I feel as we grow older we will always be attached to the mainstream music we grow up with. But as we get older we realize what the content of the newer music is about and cannot relate. What are your thoughts?

I totally agree to it. Modern day songs lack meaning,especially Indian songs. Only the beats of the song is good. You cannot sing the lyrics as it is no good. Many of the songs are like this. Old songs had good meaning and lyrics.

I agree with you @rubyriaz007. They have no meaning. If you really try to understand they would be awful. When the writer puts his time, soul and life [not exaggerating] in to his lyrics then amazing songs will come. Its up to lyricists

Now a days it's just a money making doesn't matter about the music or phrase i too think they lack meaning . U listen old music songs such great words and meaningful phrase u feel relaxed.

I agree. Money is what drives everyone to do anything these days. There's very little creativity or compassion.

Greetings, Most of the songs nowadays lack meaning. That's easily explained through the listeners. Most of the "mainstream" music has been used as a business. And the listeners don't quite want complexity. That's why we have lots of songs coming out with simple and vulgar lyrics, portraying simple dreams or the daily life of the common citizen. However, there are still great bands out there. And they are composing, and their compositions are awesome! Have a nice time. I hope you find something to please your ears. :)
