Many are happy about this. My friend doesnt see the big picture yet her work is already suffering. Minimum wage jumped almost $2 starting January 1st. Iam cringing as the cost of everything has gone up. The government will take more so that raise will give me maybe $100 more a month. Yet, the cost of food, hydro, and heat have gone up the same day. So realistically it goes to that. Iam now looking for another job as the cost of food is more than i can afford and any governmemt assistance discriminates against single people unless you have kids you tend to be nothing. Now imagine someone who can only.work 1 job or who is retired etc. My friend has already had her hours cut.

It really just sounds like as the rate of minimum wage goes up everything else going up to means there really is no helpful change at all in the long run.
