Got a nice "thank you" letter...

I received a really nice thank you letter from the lady I returned the check to… She said that she was very pleasantly surprised that I found the check, and even more surprised that I returned it to her. As luck would have it… She found out that morning that the check was missing, and then said that an hour later she got my card in the mail. So... I did save her some $$$ on a stop payment fee. She thought... Coincidence??? Not sure… I think it was God’s perfect timing. She said a few more things; then shared her favorite scripture with me. So she must have been a christian. She also told me that she loved (underlined the word) the card I picked out, to mail the check back in. Then she told me...that she “believed that letter writing was a lost art, in this day and age. Sad to say.“ So she was hoping...that I would want to continue to correspond with her. Maybe through my act of kindness, I gained a new friend. And since she likes to write and send letters through the mail, like I do…God gave me someone to do that with...

It'nt that special. I did the same thing for my neighbor. The mailman was making major screw ups in our area. I got a one million dollar credit card in the mail. Talk about screw ups.

@db20747 - There is a credit card company that gives $25,000 credit limits?

That is really nice! It's true that we seem to have lost the art of letter writing. I was just talking about that today. A co-worker's son joined the army, and today she sent out his address at the army base and asked us to correspond with him since they don't really get to see or talk to people during basic training. I asked her why I just couldn't post on his Facebook page. The army takes away their phones, computers and electronics while they are in basic training. I was embarrassed that I didn't realize that she gave out his address so that we would write letters to him! I haven't done that in decades! lol

They really do treasure getting snail mail. I used to write to a couple of soldiers who were deployed overseas. My snail mail meant the world to them.
