There is news in the daily that Coco trees will vanish from earth in a few decades due to climate change and global warming. There are huge users and fans for chocolate drinks , foods, sweets and cakes.Can you imagine a world without chocolate ice creams, cakes , pudding and creams. Are you a chocolate lover? Scientists try to develop new breed of coco trees which have immunity to recover such climate conditions.

I am not a chocolate lover but I would be sad if coco tree vanished from the earth.

IF nothing is done, the chocolate will disappear by year 2050. I am not concerned I will be no more.

@shshiju Cacao plants are under threat of devastation due to warmer and dryer climate. Scientists at the University of California are examining the possibility to use a technology of gene-editing to create cacao crops capable to survive the new condition.

@JolietJake If they never tasted, they cannot miss it. I have read that botanists are creating a new species that will survive. I remember when 45 years ago they said "in 25 years we will run out of gasoline"... sure!

@LadyDuck Global warming may be the reason behind it. Coco plants need equal climate to resist. We have coco plants and seeds are very less in winter season than the Monsoon season.

@ridingbet that is right. But there may chances to get the evidences. As we are studying about Mammoth and dinosaurs.

I can stay without chocolate. I eat only one chocolate in a month or so. I don't buy them myself.

I can never imagine a world without chocolate ice creams,cakes puddings and creams, what ever it be ice cream or pudding,my all time favorite flavor is chocolate flavor. I go first for chocolate flavor in ice creams and pastries. My sister too love chocolate flavor very much.
