After last night's powerful Golden Globes speech there is a lot of talk about Oprah running for President in 2020. I have to admit, her speech was inspiring and uplifting, it brought tears to my eyes in a totally opposite way from how Donald Trump's speeches bring tears to my eyes. Something tells me many of the same people who voted for and still support the current resident of the White House will be the first to make fun at the idea of an Oprah Winfrey candidacy. To them I say this...Oprah really IS a self-made woman, she literally came from "nothing" as compared to borrowing and then inheriting millions of dollars from a rich father. She didn't get where she is by lying and cheating and refusing to pay her bills. She's kind as opposed to being a nasty bully. It's too soon for me to make any decision about the 2020 election, I'm concentrating on 2018 first, but I sure won't count Oprah out.
Accepting the Cecil B. DeMille award at the 75th Golden Globes, Oprah delivered a powerhouse speech to an almost silent room. Landing line after line Oprah schooled the audience in history referenc…

She is one strong and very inspirational woman that did so many amazing things for so many people. It would be lovely if she will run.

I honestly think in today's climate she could win. She's a hell of a lot smarter than Trump by a mile and she has empathy and compassion, which he has none of either.

Her speech was wonderful but I'd like to see someone with some political experience in the White House in 2020. I want Elizabeth Warren.

I agree about Elizabeth Warren and there are some others with political experience I like a lot but my thoughts are since so many people seem to think being a "politician" with actual KNOWLEDGE of our Constitution and governing is something terrible if we're going to have a "celebrity" in the White House it should be one with a brain and a heart.

That's nice to have a woman as president and a popular celebrity

Right now we have what some people consider to be a "popular celebrity" in the White House but I'm fine with having one who also has common sense, compassion, empathy and a BRAIN, none of which Trump has but all of which Oprah does.

I think there was talk of her running for president way before this Golden Globes speech. If Trump, who doesn't come from politics, can become president then so can Oprah and even Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

I will have to wait and see if she will run in 2020. I am not sure how good she will do.

Oprah served as a pimp for Harvey Winestine, Bringing him women so he could abuse them....Her speech sounded good, but where was she when all these women were being abused, Just turning her back on them...

I did a search just for the heck of it to see where you got your bogus information and I wasn't surprised to see what "reliable" sources you have. It takes a lot of gall to even say such a thing about someone like Oprah when your boyfriend is the "Groper-In-Chief" and has been credibly accused of raping a little girl. Every one of Donald Trump's supporters have turned their backs on all those women.

@anniepa Their are a few women coming out saying that they trusted harvey because of oprah...She took them to him....She knew what was going on and she turned a blind eye to it for money..... I have a husband...I do not have a boy friend......and if that woman's story was credible it would not have been through out of court once.....and she would not have dropped the charges two different times....We have not turned our backs on anything...We want the truth....Not a accusation that anyone can make...But the proof to back it up........Plus anyone that took money to tell a story is not very credible......

@dlr297 Talk about a double standard! You make these crazy allegations about Oprah, just as you've done about Hillary Clinton and others, with absolutely no reliable evidence and that's alright because they're "liberals" you hate so you can accuse them of anything you pick up from garbage sources but the many women who have credibly accused your honey of disgusting behavior, similar to what Weinstein did, are liars because the orange one can do no wrong. You want nobody to say anything about Trump, just like his gold-digger wife you believe his victims should keep it to themselves unless they have it on tape or eye witnesses or something but others don't get that privilege. Who took money to tell what story??? Maybe you have a husband, I really know nothing about you or who you really are, but I think you have a crush on Donald. I can't figure out why because he's about as gross as one could get but you sure seem to like him despite there being nothing good about him.
