I have been noticing this all my life. What is it with people who do not look at you when you talk to them?

Of course, not everyone does this, but a lot of them really do. You will be talking to them or they will be talking to you, but their eyes are not on you. They are looking in every direction but yours. I find it hurtful. If you do not find me interesting, then don't bother. If you are bored and just consider me an option because nobody else is around, don't waste my time. Most people do not do this to me, but those who do really irritate me.

I never look directly at a person I'm talking to, and it isn't because I find them uninteresting, on the contrary. I don't want to seem like I'm staring.

I know what you are talking about, but there is a difference between that and people who are looking all over the place and not even paying attention to the conversation.

@MsBooklover Yes, that is rude. Though I tend to look at everything, but I always pay attention to the person I'm with.

Yes, I do if I can. When it is someone important in your life, you wonder why they do it.

Personally, I have a hard time making eye contact with people when I'm talking with them. Especially people I don't know well. I also tend to get distracted by my kids. Gotta make sure they don't wander off, you know...
