A Mini Break In the Weather

Afteer experiencing temps way below zero- and one record-breaking cold day for January, we have found ourselves in as high as plus 9 degrees C weather and another record breaker. It was warm as an early Spring day today but will go down again to minus 9 in two days.
I have never experienced such ups and downs in the winter weather pattern even though we are famous for ups and downs in Southern Ontario. But not to this degree- Literally!
Today all the snow on the roads have turned to puddles and we are getting incredible rain. By the weekend it will all freeze again, making it treacherous to walk/drive or crawl anywhere. And there doesn't seem to be a place to go to to get out of the wacky weather. It seems to be happening everywhere. I think I need that tropical island for a few weeks till we get stabilized. Actually, I would take that even if the weather gets better!

You are right- especially for Switzerland you would think there would be more snow. I thought I heard it snowed quite heavily in the Alps.

@MarymargII It has snowed a lot in the Alps, but not here in the south. We have another alert for tonight for the Alpine region.
