A woman named Sara Winchester (1839 - 1922) thought that she would die if she stopped adding rooms to her house in San Jose, California. When she finally did die, her eight-story house had 160 rooms, 2,000 doors, 47 fireplaces 10,000 windows and miles of secret passages and hallways.
