Cold water bath in winter months.

In winter months or in cold weather many of us like to take bath with lukewarm water or hot water. I take bath with lukewarm water in winter months, as the normal water is icy cold and it makes me uncomfortable if I take bath with icy cold water. There are some who claim that in winter months also they take bath or shower early in the morning with normal or cold water. May be they have strong bodies and cold water does not make much affect on them. Are you the one who prefer to take bath or shower with normal or cold water in winter months? Image courtesy - Google

I never take cold bath or showers, not even in summer. I think it's a matter of habits and taste. In Sweden people bath in the snow.

It means you take bath with hot/warm water and you just cannot think of taking bath with cold water. Weather generally remains cooler at your place, therefore, warm water is better for bathing. It sounds interesting that people bath in the snow in Sweden.

I think I would die if I had to have a cold shower any time. I don't like them one bit.

@JudyEv I won't say that you are a coward or who cannot take bath with cold water are coward. It is one's choice to take bath with cold water. I won't even term it as a phobia.

@dpk262006 I am such a coward but I really hate cold showers. I wonder if it's possible to have a phobia about such a thing?

These past months since December, the weather here becomes so cold especially when it rains. When that happens, I just get a basin and fill it with hot water from airpot and put it in a pail with cold water. I just want the water to bathe not to be too hot nor too cold, just warm enough like on a normal hot day.

When the temperature is down and it is cold over there due to excessive rain, you prefer to take bath with slightly warm water and you won't take bath with cold water. It is wiser on your part not to go for cold water bath.

@SIMPLYD - I understand that your cold mornings are such that you could afford to take bath with normal or cold water. I agree with you that first two dips of water will cause discomfort, thereafter it would be a smooth sailing.

@dpk262006 Yes, when it is extremely cold I take a warm bath. But on most cold mornings, even if it's I just take a bath with the cold water. Brr! First two dips of the water will be cold, but after that, it is so refreshing already.

It takes time for water to get warmed. One needs to switch on the geyser or immersion road at least 20 minutes before bathing. You could plan your bath accordingly.

Yes, warm is better. Doctors say that temperature of water should commensurate with our body temperature, when we take bath.

I cannot take a bath with very cold water, I need to heat water and add to my bath water. If only we have a shower with cold and hot then it should be easier.

No winter here. But the Dec-Jan mornings are cold so we shower with warn water and I usually close off with normal temperature. Water is regulated in a short supply so no baths are allowed. Even in doing dishes we conserve water. There is no water shortages...just the distribution water lines are regulated with a valve.

I understand that there is a rationing of water and you cannot have luxury of bath, the way you like. At your place weather remains normal so you could take bath with normal water, except cold mornings of December and January months.

@Gita17112016 I understand that distribution of water is not uniform in your area, therefore, some areas get less water. As temperature goes north, you take bath with normal water.

@dpk262006 There is no rationing of water or scarcity. Just bad engineering and a spot of bad luck. My country is temperate climate, so we do bath with normal water.
