Regarding the new Doctor

As every Doctor Who fan likely already knows, the latest incarnation of the Doctor is a woman--and a very lovely woman, if I may be so bold. This is, in my opinion, a very positive change for a myriad of reasons. Firstly, I've had a look at Jodie Whittaker's filmography and it seems she's a rather proficient actor. I very much look forward to seeing what her talent will lend to the Doctor's character. Secondly, this change shows that anyone can play the Doctor--young or old, man or woman. The BBC is opening itself up to every possibility. The way things are going now, the next incarnation will likely be black. I'm hoping it's Richard Ayoade.

I like the idea of a female Doctor. I've heard a lot of positive things about here. My wife watched Broadchurch. I don't care who plays The Doctor, so long as the stories are good.
