Have You Any Unusual Phobias?

'' A phobia is a type of anxiety disorder, defined by a persistent fear of an object or situation.''(Wikipedia.)
I have read about some common phobias like Acrophobia (Fear of Heights),Claustrophobia (Fear of small spaces),Agoraphobia (Fear of open or crowded places), and Arachnophobia (Fear of spiders).
But while going through an article in Telegraph,I saw a list of some uncommon phobias.
There are some who fear the color Yellow.(Xanthophobia.) The people with this phobia may fear looking at the Sun,Daffodils and Yellow paint.
There are also people who fear cheese.(Turophobia ).They may have the fear for particular type of cheeses or cheese in General
Do you (or any body you know)suffer from any uncommon phobias?

@hereandthere I haven't seen gummy snakes but gummy worms yes, I have seen and eaten them. They don't look creepy like the real ones.

I have fear of not being able to sleep at night. Some phobias are funny as there is no real reason to be scared of

Fear of sleep or falling asleep is called Somniphobia But I do not think in your case it has become a phobia.Try to go to sleep in the same time every day and do not take naps during the day.May be it is not fear but anxieties that do not allow you to sleep peacefully.

Yes, fear of snakes, fear of strangers, fear of public speaking, fear of confrontations, fear of being abducted by a criminal.

You have so many phobias.Some of them are common.In these times when there are so many crimes being committed,naturally the fear of being kidnapped is there for many.Did you always have this fear or did it start after any particular news or experience?
i have not seen any one who is scared of feathers as i am
is there anyone on mylot please comment

@saiama Fear of feathers is called'' Pteronophobia''.The fear of birds including pigeons is called Ornithophobia.These two phobias are also shared by many.There are even people who fear chickens.

My 7th grade maths teacher suffered from octophobia (fear of the number 8). True story y'all. Instead of saying 'eight', he'd always say 'hate'. My friends and I all knew he was able to say it correctly, but he just didn't want to, he couldn't. I wonder what ever happened to the guy. If I bump into him soon, I'm going to wish him a happy 2018! (two-thousand-and-hate-teen)

I do believe I have Acrophobia because I couldn't help some how, my knees gets weakened when ever I'm on high places.

No phobias in my house, have met some people with phobias but not to yellow, most I met are afraid of heights or afraid of snakes.

@silvermist I watched Chrarlie Brown one time, and Lucy told him he had Pantophobie, which is the fear of everything, and I can relate to that. Waterbugs, spiders and heights are my biggest fears.

It seems you have Entomophobia (or insectophobia). Many people have this one.Some are afraid of ants,bees etc.
