News Media Nitpicking Trump Flaws

Everybody is aware of Trump's "sh*thole" remarks thanks to over exposure in the news media. Who's to blame, the news media or the general public that seem to have an insatiable appetite for this kind of "news"? Late night show comedians have to ENTERTAIN their audience and we can understand why Trump is their #1 source for comic relief. But shouldn't news outlet be reporting the news instead of putting too much focus on "infotainment" articles? I would be interested in what possible outcome the DACA immigration policy expiration in March would have on the 800,000 "dreamers" (which was the discussion in the Oval office that produce Trump's outburst). Instead I get the latest "news" about whether Trump said "sh*thole" or "sh*thouse", what so and so senator or congressman have to say about the racial slur or how other foreign leaders are reacting to the newest US president's "foot in mouth" freudian slip. Your take on news media's reporting on president Trump's character flaws?

They're just upset that he didn't use the politically correct term for "sh*thole".... Third-World Country.

Trump may have called a spade a spade but people expect the leader of the most powerful country to be more circumspect in his pronouncement.

@JolietJake What's bullshit? If a conservative tried any of this insanity on Clinton, Bush, or Obama, you know damn well what would have happened. And it probably would include Gitmo.

I am tired of the ugly, tabloid "news" I am always getting. We aren't doing our country any favors, but hey, all they care about are ratings and clips.

@josie_ Too many Americans were unhappy with the way the Obama administration ended, and the changes he made. However, he was still beloved by many, while Hillary Clinton was close to reviled in many circles. In fact, most people felt they were choosing the lesser of two evils when they voted, for whomever that happened to be. Plus, so many thought Hillary would win that they didn't bother to vote. But the people who disliked Hillary DID get out to vote, and thus we have Trump. Liberals have only themselves to blame for their actions and inaction. And conservatives can only look at themselves and ask, how is Trump the best we can do? How could we not have done better?

@AmbiePam _Like you wrote it was a choice of who was perceive to be the lesser evil. Although Hilary Clinton won the popular vote. Maybe you should do away with the electoral college which resulted in a Trump win. Conservatives and Liberals are just two side of the same coin. The American voters are limited to the two major political parties. Not much of a choice.

It's sad for me to say but I do listen to these News outlets because they simply entertain me. But as for being informed, not much. You realize those networks are also bias with each other's political parties.

I think it's still possible to find serious news reporting. So it's the decision of the reading and viewing public what kind of news they choose.

True. But somehow people's attitude towards the news is changing. They want their news summarize for them, literally spoon-fed. Typical format of news is what is derisively called "infotainment", part information and part entertainment.

We put celebrities up on pedestals to fantasize about the ideal man or woman. It's a letdown when we find out they are also like us with their character flaws and misconducts.

@ConVolines _Could you give an example of a "silly" thing Trump said which was for a good reason? Here are some Trump quotes that I'm still puzzling over. Maybe you could enlighten me as to what he meant? “It’s freezing and snowing in New York – we need global warming! "The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive." “Despite the constant negative press covfefe” “I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.” "I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will have Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words." "If you look at Saddam Hussein, he killed terrorists. I'm not saying he was an angel, but this guy killed terrorists." “My IQ is one of the highest — and you all know it! Please don’t feel so stupid or insecure; it’s not your fault.”

He doesn't say stupid things. Even the "silly" things he says are said for good reason. But he is always right, and this is always proven after the fact. Search Twitter for many examples under #TrumpWasRight and #TrumpWasRightAgain.

I don't really follow anything Trump. I read people getting all worked up and intense and I was told the man has so much impact on the world that I should pay attention. But I can't seem to relate. Politics is such a turn off where everything is 'lies, lies and more lies' and life and actions has no ethical standing. Urg! Seriously? Just not interested. I quicker follow a bird trail or something...LOL

"Politics is a dirty business" and most politicians are liars...er lawyers. Trump promise to be different. But promises are meant to be broken. I have never understood the joy of bird watching but make sure they don't poo on you like what many politicians do.

@josie_ "Promises are meant to be broken"? See the easy acceptance you said that? I hope my senses are neve dulled to the extent that the words are rendered impotent. I like the nature and trails you take to see birds. But I too don't see the hours spent on this activity...even so I'll choose it over Trump politics. I'll make sure no poo on me! Thanks for the heads up!

@Gita17112016 Then let me introduce you to the lunatics who want you to believe Trump -- the man fixing the problems caused by corrupt people -- is ushering in the end of the world. Normal people call it "Trump Derangement Syndrome," or TDS. Don't watch this with coffee in your mouth, in front of the computer. You will spray!
From helpless cries to primal screams, liberals protested the one-year anniversary of President Trump’s election by huddling together in public spaces and howling from sea to shining sea.

@josie_ Now you're catching on. But you'll take it the wrong way, as though he's distracting them from Muh Russia. He's distracting them from getting in his way and from doing an actually effective coverup.

The mainstream "news" media is CIA controlled and a joke. They even widely-covered that Trump has two scoops of ice-cream while ignoring real news. The reason they are not reporting real news, is that the real news is Trump is great. He will Make America Great Again, and is also helping the rest of the world defeat evil in their own countries. You won't hear about any of that on CNN.
