Well, it must be severe weather.

The neighbor and his youngest son were just down here, and apparently because of the ice and "snow" they cancelled school and work for them. Which is a little ridiculous to me. I mean I grew up in Oregon. This is nothing. The ice is just about melted and the snow that they called for didn't even show up. I know Florida is ill equipped for weather, but I'm pretty sure they could of handled today with a late start.

We had the same thing happen at our school district during the last big icy cold blast a few weeks ago. They ended up cancelling school for two days because there was a threat of icy roads. Parents were really upset because they had to scramble to find childcare arrangements. Everybody was asking why they couldn't have just delayed the start time of the schools on those days, since the ice melted as soon as the sun came up? Talk about overreaction! I'm surprised they aren't canceling school again tomorrow and Friday since the temps will get down into the 20s?

@thislittlepennyearns It was hot here today! Well, hot compared to the temps we were facing last week. I might actually be able to wear shorts to work again soon!

Same here in Latvia. If the weather is snowy people still go to work and school because they are used to the harsh conditions in the winter in northern Europe.

Florida is not prepared for snow, because its so rare that we actually even get any. This is the coldest winter a lot of natives from this area can remember in a long time. It was 18 degrees when I went to bed last night.
