Staying Put Indoors

It is very very rare here (every few years) but the temps today only got out of freezing (35F). So I have been staying indoors as in my opinion it is too cold to walk 3 blocks to walmart or even a block to the corner store. Except stores most things were shut down today including bus service. Kids enjoying a day off of school too (which the only time they get this is after a hurricane).. Bridges were close this morning due to icing keeping some from getting to work. During this time they kept the fire boat positioned in case of medical emergency since both bridges to Santa Rosa Island were closed and no way to get medical issues to the mainland and to one of the hospitals. They just show some pictures on the news of many icy areas and a video of something you only see up North comeing off the gulf Artic Sea smoke which was quite expressive. I have got the start of homemade Vegetable beef soup on the stove and brrrr will have step out long enough shortly the feed the feral cats for my sister (they do have a place to get out of the element a back truck shell with some blankets) and I think I will put the food there. Yes Florida does get cold spells and I will be glad come Saurday when it will be near 65F

It got down to 50 last night here, which we call good sleeping weather. It's only about 60 now, but in the sun it's too hot in my sweatshirt. I'm so happy you take such good care of those kitties! Hugs to you and enjoy that soup!

For some living in cold weather isn't healthy. Unfortunately when the weather conditions aren't fair then there will need to be some delays and closures.

I'm glad you'll be warming up this weekend and everything will return to normal.

That sounds awfully bleak. The poor cats must really suffer during such times. It's kind of your sister (and you) to feed them.
