Changing the Laws

In the US, 1/3 of all wrecks are alcohol related causing 10,000 fatalities per year and they are considering lowering the BAL (blood alcohol level) from .08 down to .05 before hauling you off to jail. What a lot of people don't realize is that it takes 1 hour for your liver to metabolize 1 ounce of alcohol and 10 hours for that amount to leave the body. Once your BAL reaches .05, negative affects start to increase and women are more susceptible to the affects over men because men have more water in the body than women (which has a somewhat diluting affect). So if you're going to go out on the town for a few drinks, just know what 3 or 4 of them can do. Especially if you're downing a few shots; which is 1 ounce each. Be safe and be smart.

@nanette64 It is so sad people have to drink period and then drink and drive is worse. They are not only taking their life in other people's hands but others as well. There has to be stricter laws on that and for them to work too to save lives on the road.

@nanette64 I read about this, and the article said that scientist are wanting the change. I guess they've researched it further and I think it's a great idea. I wish they would enforce the laws or create harsher laws to help.

I think if those who break the law had to face harsher penalties, it might make a difference @misunderstood_zombie .
