Not many can put my punk music on the back burner, but this lady and band always could. I would probably like the band so much more if my Marine roommate in the Mid 90's did not kill their albums every day I lived with him. I always say I kill the music that I love. Killing, meaning you listen to the music so much that one day you end up not being able to stand the music anymore. Of course, you take a long break and then kill it all over again. It is so much fun. I still have nothing on my Irish Marine Roommate from Dublin, though. He was so proud of Dolores and the Cranberries. He actually hated U2, saying they are not real anymore. Dolores O'Riordan and the Cranberries are real. He actually applied for a green card living in Ireland and when came here, said he wanted to join the Marines. They let him and was a pretty cool guy. How neat of a story is that? I WAS lucky the CD still played by the time I left Okinawa. I was also lucky he gave my 2 albums back. This is not a sad post, but was shocked that Dolores passed away at 46. I was about 5 days late hearing this. Where has my head been at lately to miss that news of one of my favorite bands ever? If you find me, please let me know. That being said, as we celebrate Dolores O'Riordan short, but impactful life. It sure would have been nice if Mother Nature would have given us a bit more time with such a pretty soul. Never take things for granted.
